Senator Parker was awarded the Patrick Henry Award in 2018 for his work on this project.

Working to Make Mississippi a Safer Place

He was also awarded the 2016 Champion of Children Award by the Foundation of Government Accountability for his work to help children and families in need with the passage of his Supporting and Strengthening Families Act.

Strong Support for Our Teachers and Students

Senator Parker has been a champion for students and education. He was recognized this year for his work to increase teacher and assistant teacher pay. Senator Parker meets and talks regularly with district education leaders on methods to make our schools better and safer for students. His wife, Ashleigh, currently serves as PTO President at Pleasant Hill Elementary School.

Working Together with City and County Leaders

Senator Parker has pioneered legislation to keep more of our tax dollars in DeSoto County so that our municipalities can continue to provide a high standard of living for our residents. This additional revenue is used to help maintain our existing roads and bridges in our cities. When revenue stays in our cities, it reduces the tax burden for our residents.
